Invitation to Gettysburg : typescript, 1948-1995.

The typescript (ca. 1948), which includes corrections, is an article by Joseph L. Eisendrath, Jr. In it Eisendrath discusses the invitation issued by David Wills to Lincoln to speak at Gettysburg. Two TLS also are included. The first, dated January 7, 1949, is from Roy P. Basler of The Abraham Lincoln Association explaining a note added to the article upon publication. The second TLS is from Harvey Lemmen, dated August 17, 1995.
